Alan is a forty-one-year-old engineer, 1.80 meters tall with fair skin, and still has dark hair without gray. As a good bachelor, he dedicates several hours to the gym, maintaining himself as a sturdy and robust man who appears several years younger than he is.

The engineer works for a major construction company in the capital that undertakes government projects in various cities across the country; today, he is the only resident engineer on the construction of a building that will be the headquarters of the municipal government of a town hidden in the jungle in the south of the country.

Alan realizes he has been staring intently at the laborer on site while mixing cement; he takes off his glasses and quickly diverts his gaze, turning to check that no one has seen him leering at the 19-year-old boy.

In those towns and in his profession, it is not advisable to be known as homosexual; these are places where it could even cost him his life, and at the very least, he would lose the respect of the workers under his command. All the laborers on site are locals hired for the job. Most are farmers who, for the good pay of this project, take a month off from their lands.

It is still only ten in the morning, but the heat in that jungle town reaches nearly thirty degrees. The laborer carries bags of cement and mixes it without a shirt; his skin is tanned and has darkened further beyond its natural color due to sun exposure. Although he is a slim boy, his torso is perfectly defined, and every muscle of his abdomen is visible, a body sculpted in detail through hard work and a meager rural diet.

When he loads the cement with a shovel and places it in a wheelbarrow, which he then moves a few meters ahead to where the other laborers are laying bricks, his biceps and shoulders tense and expand, large and powerful. Occasionally, when he bends down, his pants slip down too much, revealing the origin of the line between his buttocks, which strangely has more hair than the rest of his body.

The laborer is named Zacarías; he is the nephew of the master builder. One of the wealthiest men in the town because he owns the only shop in the area.

The town's remoteness and the dangerous road force Alan to stay overnight in the town. The master builder, named Alberto, rents a small cabin at the back of his property to Alan; as it is a very large piece of land, consisting of several hectares that also has animals and crops, it is more of a cabin lost in the middle of nowhere, with the jungle at its back.

Zacarías usually lives in that cabin, but to rent it to the engineer (and earn a few extra pesos), his uncle forced him to move with them into the larger house at the entrance of the property for that month.

The master's nephew was not too pleased to have to move during that month, but he had no choice but to comply.
