It happened in a camp in the mountain. One of the spiritual guides was a young man with a hippie look, with dreadlocks in his hair, thin and somewhat dark-skinned. His name was Nico, and he was in charge of guiding me in my spiritual growth practices.

When we went into a tent, we sat in lotus position on a colorful mat. Then Nico let out a loud and sonorous fart. To my amazement, he smiled with kindness and sweetness, and said: Don't be embarrassed, farts are natural manifestations, we don't have to hide them or restrain them. Farts put us in contact with the cosmos and help release spiritual energy and relax our body and spirit.

Then he invited me to do the same, and since I've always had an innate taste for those things, I let my gases flow freely.

On the first day, Nico introduced me to elementary yoga exercises, always inviting me to let my gases flow with tranquility and confidence, without any shame. He told me that this was a pleasant offering to Mother Earth, Pachamama. He also talked about how excessive cleanliness was harmful to the body and spirit, and that he never used chemical products in his personal hygiene.

In the following days, Nico taught me to appreciate the beauty of appreciating natural body odors, especially the bad smell of feet, which he considered a natural incense that pleased the gods.

Towards the end of the experience at the camp, Nico invited me to experiment with relaxing my whole body and letting flow not only gases, but also urine and shit, as well as saliva, which I had to let flow freely from my mouth so that it would fall freely.

That's how I learned, in the company of my spiritual master, to practice yoga as an exercise where everything natural comes to the surface. At the end of the experience, we would smear our bodies with shit and let it dry, smile like idiots, and walk freely through the forest, because in that way we returned to the primitive origins of our animalistic human essence, like cavemen.

We spent many hours of meditation smelling each other's feet and asses, while our spirits merged with the cosmic energy. That's how I learned that the path of spiritual enlightenment is much more interesting than many people think.
