First punishment

My name is Pablo. When I was 19, I took the entrance exams and started studying Medicine at the University of La Plata. I moved from my hometown to live in a big city, in an apartment shared with two other students, a little older than me.

I knew Daniel from high school. He was blond, tall, quite defined from the gym. He had curly hair and dark blue eyes. His parents told mine that a room had opened up in their son's apartment. Since the price was very good and the location ideal, they decided I should move in with him.

The other roommate was named Luis. He was a year older than me, with slightly darker skin, brown eyes, and a nice physique: a good torso, good legs, and a good ass. Two macho guys. I wasn’t bad-looking, but next to them I looked thinner and a little shorter. I lacked self-esteem, confidence.

I was pretty lost: I was just beginning to accept that I liked guys and, with so many changes, college, the city, I was disoriented. They noticed and, after a few weeks, began treating me badly, as if I were lesser. They rummaged through my things and took whatever they wanted; they forced me to clean and do their shopping. At the time, I didn’t know that was bullying. I normalized it. I never set a boundary, and the abuse kept growing.

One day, when I came back from the gym, they told me to go to the supermarket to buy some beers. I didn’t feel like it at all: I was behind on an important college assignment and dead tired.

“Hey, Pablo, go to the supermarket and bring beers,” Luis said, sprawled on the couch.

“No, I can’t today,” I replied. “I’m tired and I have to make progress on an assignment.”

Daniel suddenly stood up.

“What do you mean you’re not going? Are you fucking with me?” he shouted at me. “Take the money and go now.”

“Dani, seriously, no,” I tried to stay calm. “I’ll go tomorrow, today I’m done.”

“Who do you think you are to say no?” he said, coming closer. “You do what we tell you.”

I turned around to go to my room.

“Leave me alone, I have to study.”

I didn’t get to touch the doorknob. Daniel grabbed my arm and gave me a sharp slap.

“Hey, stop, what are you doing?” I said, shocked. “Let go of me.”

“Now you’re acting smart,” he said, squeezing harder. “You think you’re so important, don’t you?”

“Please, Dani, leave me alone…” I begged him, almost voiceless.

He smirked.

“Nah… now you’re going to learn how things work here. Luis, come here and help me!” Dani shouted. “We’re going to play for a while with this piece of shit.”

Luis approached without hurrying.

“Hold him tight,” Dani told him while twisting my arms behind my back.

“Relax… we’re going to have fun,” he told me afterward, with a crooked smile.
