A Special Wedding 1

This weekend, I'm organizing a austere and almost secretive wedding at an old hacienda in my city.

The guest list is only 100 people, a nighttime event with strict formal attire. The hacienda is located by the sea, and I found a beautiful spot on the beach to set up the 100 chairs and a small stage in front where I placed the table for the judge and the chairs for the guests.

The only light illuminating the ceremony area is from torches that I've placed along the central aisle, providing minimal light and creating an intimate atmosphere.

The first part of the ceremony, presided over by the judge, proceeds naturally without any issues.

The two grooms, dressed in white tuxedos, kiss after the judge declares them legally married. The guests applaud happily.

When this part of the ceremony ends, the uncle of one of the grooms, Iñigo, steps up onto the small stage, which is only about 30 centimeters high.

Iñigo is a handsome man, very muscular, a redhead with long hair, a beard, and a mustache. He appears to be in his forties.

"Respected families of Patricio and Agustín, friends who are accompanying us," Iñigo says with a firm and elegant voice, "in this part of the ceremony, only those who received a black invitation are invited. I kindly ask the others to please move to the salon and wait for the grooms for the party."

The attendance is reduced by half, with most being men, although there are some women, all close friends of Patricio and Agustín, the grooms.

As the wedding planner, I remain in my position, standing at the back of the chairs, ensuring that nothing disrupts the ceremony.

I got this job because one of the grooms, Agustín, was my friend in school... I lost contact with him when he left the city to study for a history degree in the capital... I hadn't heard from him until a year ago when he sent me a message on my cell phone and asked to meet with me at a café.

I arrived at the agreed-upon time and had trouble recognizing him: when he left, he was a slightly overweight young man, but now he was a very athletic 48-year-old man.

Agustín is dark-skinned with some mulatto features, curly hair, a closed beard and mustache, and thick lips. He looked very handsome and was dressed in a polo shirt and pants.

We chatted amiably for a few minutes to catch up on each other's lives. Agustín had been married to a woman for over twenty years. Afterward, he moved to Turin.

"I returned a year ago," he told me that morning, "my wife stayed there, and my children are already grown and moved out of my house a long time ago... I looked for you because I'm getting married again," he added enthusiastically, "I know you're a wedding planner, and I trust you enough to ask for your help in organizing a very special wedding."
