This allows for an authentic exploration of power and submission without the restrictions of traditional gender roles.

Today, BDSM is not limited to binary gender identities. Non-binary, transgender, queer, and people of different sexual orientations actively participate, offering a platform to explore diverse forms of power and submission, regardless of gender. This constitutes a deeply subversive space, challenging heteronormative and binary norms and allowing people to reconfigure their relationships with power and vulnerability.

Over the last few decades, BDSM has grown largely thanks to the recognition of non-binary identities and the acceptance of the spectrum of sexual orientations. Now, it is an inclusive environment where submission and domination transcend gender or sexual orientation, making BDSM a practice that challenges traditional social structures, allowing individuals to redraw their relationship with power and vulnerability.
