CHAPTER I – Blows

The sensitive nerve endings are what make us feel both pleasure and pain.

The first indications of Sebas's (Sebastian's) high pain threshold were when he was still a baby, with his first injectable vaccinations. He didn't cry. His mother saw it as "how good the boy was" and didn't give it more importance. However, when he was older and would get small wounds or scratches while playing, in addition to not crying, she saw him picking at scabs with his nails. She scolded him, told him not to do it, and that he had to wait for the wound to heal. But Sebas kept doing it, again and again.

The initial tests were normal, so the specialist decided to do subjective pain evaluation tests. He pinched, hit, and gradually increased the intensity to see the boy's reactions. That's when he was greatly surprised by the level of resistance or imperturbability Sebas had. He then referred him to a psychiatrist friend who worked with a psychologist with good references. In the end, both determined that it was a characteristic of the boy that wouldn't cause functional or social adaptation problems, and perhaps, on the contrary, it could be an advantage in some way.

Sebas, when he was still in pre-adolescence, was already watching porn videos.
