Clement took control of everything: the lives of Iñaki and Paulus, the apartment, and the office. Except for a couple of times, he never went to the office where both slaves worked, but he was always present, and in everything else, he was omnipresent.

He was enjoying living in Paris; rarely had he felt so pleased and fulfilled. He had reasons for it: he had two young, handsome, athletic, and professional men at his total service; he enjoyed a life of wealth without working and could do what he desired. For him, a person without studies, born in a marginal neighborhood, whose only capital was his own decision to emerge and impose himself on others, and which he had perfected by reading the personalities of others and extracting from that reading the precise information to control them and obtain their obedience.

He always remembered how he had met Iñaki, practicing skateboarding in an abandoned factory, and what caught his attention was that suffering and desirous gaze of being admitted into that circle. He learned to manipulate him, use him, and control him completely. It's true, he had exaggerated and broken some dangerous limits. He had paid for it, and on his body, he carried the scars of that experience.

He had given up important things for him, one of them was loving Iñaki and being loved by him. Yes, because Clemente was in love with who is now his slave, but the slave never reciprocated that feeling. Iñaki felt respect, fear, reverence, and total obedience to Clemente, but he was never in love with him. At the beginning, he liked him, felt attracted to that firm, decisive, fearless attitude, his daring and decision.

It was a hard renunciation, and it had harsh consequences; from love, he went to hatred and wanted to destroy him. He was repentant of that, very repentant. Over time, he has understood the value of Iñaki and how necessary it is for him to keep and preserve him. He is the jewel of his crown. He has always been the one who served as a base for everything. He has convinced himself that he is his capital, and that he must know how to invest it.

That investment implies knowing what to do with him and how to obtain the best gains, in the short, medium, and long term.

In the short term, it means that all the pain, suffering, humiliation, and servitude of Iñaki provides him with infinite and almost absolute pleasure.

In the medium term, it allows him to lead a life that would be impossible to maintain with his own resources.

In the long term, Iñaki is the pledge that allows him to project a completely secure life, without the need to work personally. The slave does everything.
