After the definitive transformation, Max's life became the center of Tomás's world. Gradually, Tomás stopped seeing the Luis he once knew; for him, only Max existed, his beloved dog and constant companion. It wasn't abandonment, but a deep acceptance: Max had become someone with whom he wanted to share his daily life, with frank tenderness and dedicated care.

To make Max live happily, Tomás adapted every corner of the house to his new reality and canine needs. In the living room, he placed a giant orthopedic cushion, soft, where Max slept peacefully almost all day. In the garden, he built a wooden house, with a small and cozy door, painted in bright colors, which Max adopted as his favorite refuge when he wanted to be outdoors. In the same area, Tomás installed agility games: hoops, low bars, and tunnels, to keep Max active and stimulate his mind.

In a corner of the house, Tomás improvised a spacious cage, where he put Max only when he misbehaved, for example, when he nibbled on something forbidden or escaped from the house in the garden. It was a respectful space, with cushions and toys, but which served to teach him limits.

Marcos, on his part, began to approach Tomás with delicacy and subtlety. During the shared weeks, their bond was transforming, not only as friends or companions of this peculiar family, but in the silent love that grew with each gesture. Marcos also took care of Max, giving him affection and playing when Tomás was busy, and little by little, Tomás found himself appreciating that unexpected company and affection. At times, their glances crossed with a mixture of complicity and tenderness that they barely dared to admit.

Perspectives

Max (Luis):

I don't know who Luis was once, nor do I miss him. Here, in this house, I feel like the happiest dog in the world. My comfortable bed, the games, the garden, everything is for me. Tomás speaks to me with affection and patience, and although sometimes I end up in the cage, I know it's for my own good. That Marcos also takes care of me is great... it's like having another family that loves me. I only know that I feel loved and safe, and that's enough.

Tomás:

Every day I'm surprised by how much I've changed. I no longer see Luis; I see Max. That true, simple creature, full of canine joy that teaches me to love without complications. Adapting my house so that Max can enjoy it was an act of love that bears fruit every moment. And then there's Marcos, who without pressure or words, came to stay in my heart. The love I feel multiplies between the two of them, and although unknown, it's beautiful. Sometimes I still struggle with the idea of having lost Luis, but this new reality is my truth and I wouldn't change it.
